Carver’s National Honor Society, or NHS, volunteered at the food bank over the weekend. The National Honor Society completes volunteer and community service events throughout the year. They sacrifice their weekend to help the Houston and Aldine area through their activities. Over the weekend, they went to the food
bank, an organization that works off of donations and gives the donated food to the less fortunate. NHS worked in the refrigerator sorting room. They sorted out fruits and vegetables, throwing away rotten foods, and categorizing them in preparation to be placed in the homes that need it. The National Honor Society students worked really hard and organized enough food to feed 2,000 people. Each of the members were thankful for this opportunity and hope that others will gain this experience.
