The background behind 2018 homecoming parade
After a break that lasted a few years, the annual Carver Homecoming Parade is returning to the Acres Home community.
Although the carnival has remained -hosted at the school- through the break, the parade was cancelled several years in a row due to a number of unfortunate circumstances Carver has dealt with. This year, through the hard work of the Student Council, the PTSA, and several Carver alumni, the parade is once again being held this year, and will take place on Saturday, November 10th. Multiple Carver organizations, such as the National Honor Society and the Student Council, as well as their performing arts strands are walking in the parade.
The parade will start at Carver and loop back to the school to feed into the Homecoming Carnival being hosted there, which will hold food, games, and many other festivities.
“I remember always coming out to see the parade when I was a kid,” recalled one carver student. “I’m extremely excited to see it return, and this year I even get to be a part of it!”
Indeed, the entire Carver community is abuzz with preparations, and every organization is working together to make the Parade’s return successful and fun for everyone.
